At the end of the month, we headed down to the south coast, to celebrate the grand opening of the LEGO® Store Opening in West Quay Shopping Centre, Southampton. Queues snaked outside of West Quay as eager LEGO fans queued to catch a glimpse of the brand-new store.
The store opening was coupled with the chance to visit the life-sized LEGO Hidden Side bus – Southampton was the place to be between 26-29th October! The LEGO Hidden Side bus was an immersive experience built into an old school American school bus, where guests got the chance to play with the new augmented reality LEGO Hidden Side sets.
LEGO® Hidden Side™ is a new play experience from LEGO. A gaming-first AR play experiences skinned with a ghost theme where kids must turn a haunted world back to normal, one ghost at a time. Kids are encouraged to explore the Hidden Side, solve the mysteries, catch the ghost and build up the ghost collection, and thereby continue the play loop.
With sets placed proudly on display, and tablets giving guests an opportunity to see a hidden world of interactive social play within their LEGO set. However, LEGO fans did not leave the experience empty handed, as they were given a Spooktacular mask and photo to cherish over the Halloween period.
